Bespoked Window Frosting and the Limitations of the Designs.

Some people want a one of a kind homes from start to finish and your window treatments need not be any different, however there are some limitations on the designs due to the current way we make the designs. 

 


Please take the following into consideration:
  • Supplied Image Sizes: When sending an image make sure the image is very big over 1000px by 1000px or at very hi-quality as the program needs to replicate the image. If the image is too small the program wont convert the image correctly and your design will be cut at a low quality.
  • Sizing The Design: Because the designs are cut using a plotting machine, most machines will have a tolerance of about 2-3mm on the thickness of a cutout area. Anything that's thinner than this will not cut correctly.
  • The Right Service Provider: A reputable service provider will let you know if your design might not work due to tolerances on their machine and should offer a solution or an alternative option.

In conclusion, most designs can be cut and made to spec however there have been instances where some small part of a design might not work and will need to be adjusted slightly.

How To Apply Window Frosting Vinyl?

Before we start, you get two types of applications a wet application and a dry application. Please ask your supplier which method your vinyl is designed for, in this instance because we are applying frosted vinyl we will be instructing on the wet method but please note not all frosted vinyl is applied with wet application method but it is the most common method used.   What you need before you get started: 1 x Spray bottle. 1 x Dish-wash liquid /Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo. 1 x Window scraper. 1 x Window cleaning squeegee. 1 x Application squeegee. 1 x Cutting blade.  1 x Metal ruler. 1 x Window frosted vinyl. 2 x Old towels.   Prepare the windows: Fill the spray bottle - 500ml/0,528qt - with water and add about half a teaspoon of dish-wash liquid or Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo, shake to mix the liquid solution.  Move all curtains or blinds out of the way.
